It’s November 1st, which means if you listen carefully, you can hear the distant jingling of sleigh bells.
Michael and I were so excited for it to come that we didn’t even wait for Halloween to be over before we put up our decorations. So yes, we did watch Hocus Pocus next to a fully decorated Christmas tree.
I have no regrets.
Normally at this time of year, everything is freezing and people that wore skimpy costumes for Halloween have them covered up with coats so you just see a bunch of bundled up people wandering around wearing bunny ears and masquerade masks. It’s like what I imagine an Eskimo party would look like, without the cool igloo party house. But this year, global warming did us a solid and gave us 70-80 degree weather all week. Which is super cool, except that it’s hard to justify eating, drinking, and celebrating all things fall when you’re also wearing a t-shirt and shorts to go out. It’s even weirder now that I have a Christmas tree to sit by while I sip…iced tea.
It just doesn’t make sense.
So I decided not to let the warm weather keep me from my fall beverage needs. Once I saw this recipe, I knew I had to make it no matter what the weather was. Few things on the Internet make me audibly yell out a “YAAAAAAAAAAAS” when I scroll by them, but this recipe sounded so rich and decadent and perfectly me. It’s a keeper, for sure.
